WHY I LEFT THE CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC MOVEMENT – DAN LUCARINI

Must read for those serious about worshiping God. A book on how CCM has dumbed us down musically, taught us not to sing out with our hearts, and has tried to fit holy worship into the illicit sex and drug culture’s music style. Good, good stuff by someone that used to be on the inside.
Excerpt from Why I Left the Contemporary Christian Music Movement:
I call this the ‘I want my MTV!’ attitude. That phrase was a popular advertising slogan promoting MTV in the 1980s. The advertising hook was diabolically clever. It really means: ‘I want to listen to my music whenever I feel like it and don’t you tell me that I can’t.’ This is the spirit of self-indulgence, not the Spirit of God. We brought this spirit into church with our masquerading as a tool for better evangelism.
