The US embassy in Tehran, Iran had been overrun.  Several Americans were taken hostage and would not be released for over a year.  Several others had escaped the compound, but had to be extricated.  ARGO recounts Agent Mendez’s outside-of-the-box solution – pretending to be a film crew.  From counterfeiting documents to opening a bogus, although manned, office in Hollywood to becoming familiar with a script that was totally fabricated, this book recounts the journey of the successful extrication.  Some parts were fascinating; some were a little laborious.  Overall an interesting read.
