Uriah Michael – Gone to Heaven Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2005

I know that I’m in heaven,

And I know I’ve not a care;

I know you are my refuge, God;

I know you’re always there.

I know my parents love me,

And I know that you do too;

And many others that are here, Lord,

Are so kind to me and true.

I know it will be some time

‘Til I see my Mom and Dad;

I know I’ll have to wait, God,

And that doesn’t make me mad.

But if I could just one time

Get a glimpse of my fam’ly;

If just once I saw their eyes –

If just once I heard their glee.

If just once I touched my brothers;

If just once I held their hands;

I know I’d thank thee, Jesus,

You, who made the seas and lands.

So my plea today, dear Lord, is,

Since I cannot touch my mother,

Would it be too much to ask, God,

To send to me a brother?

Mom and Dad can name him;

I don’t want to make them sad;

And another special plea, Lord,

Can you make him look like Dad?

So today that’s what I’m asking –

A brother will make me glad;

Then I can touch true family

‘Til I touch my Mom and Dad.

  1. Truely touching AND a thought and perspective I had never had before. Thank you for penning the words and sharing them. It brought tears, yet joy and some solace this morning of a son that we have not yet met, but in Gods care for several years now. Thanks again!

  2. Thank you, Bro. Larry. Katie and I admire you and your wife and your family. Thank you for being faithful in your service to our Lord Jesus Christ.
